About Me

My name is Sasha Tarling and I am a freshman here at High Point University. I am originally from East London, England but I have lived in Wilton, Connecticut since I was eight years old. I am majoring in Strategic Communications and hoping to do something in Public Relations when I am older. 

Family Life
I have one younger sister, who is fourteen years old, her name is Talia. We are very close so going to college and not seeing her everyday is hard. We still keep in touch as family is very important to me, we try to facetime at least once a week. My dad, Neil, is a very hard worker and due to this my family was given the opportunity to move to the United States. My mother, Christy, is one of my biggest inspirations in life, recently she decided to follow her dream and become a personal trainer. Fitness is a huge part of her life and she is hoping to compete in a bikini competition this upcoming year. The rest of my family still lives in England, this is difficult because I miss out on important milestones in their lives. However, I do get the chance to visit every few years and I truly value this time at home. 

Being Active
Throughout my whole life I have loved to take part in many physical activities. Growing up I took part in everything from horse riding, to cheerleading and soccer. But when I was in eighth grade I discovered one of my passions in high school, which was rowing. The sport taught me discipline, time management and leadership, as I was captain of the girls team my senior year. I love being on the water with my team, I believe that sports really create a strong bond between teammates and this is where I found my true friends in high school. I continue to be active now mostly by going to the gym as much as I can and working out with my friends.
