Brochure Writing

For this blog post I found a brochure on the academic services offered at High Point University.

Limiting Fonts: I think that this brochure limited their fonts very well, they used two main fonts throughout the document which kept the overall look consistent. I also think they first font the used was a little more fancy than the second one which is what the reading points out to do. The use of fonts made the whole brochure clean and consistent.

Limiting Colors: I really liked the color scheme of the brochure in general. It used only a few colors that I think went well together, it used purple, white, grey, and black The colors chosen produced a good contrast, especially with white text against the darker purple. They also paid attention to the pre-existing colors of the school by using purple and white.

Contrast, Contrast, Contrast: This brochure has a good use of contrast, when there is a purple background there is good contrast with the white text. However, I think they could have made it more exciting than the black text with the white background.

Trifold Brochure Writing Tips: The subtopics that this brochure used are very helpful in order to find exactly what you are looking for within the Academic services topic as a whole. The brochure follows another one of the writing tips by making all of the language within the writing pretty basic and easy for everyone to understand.  The front of the brochure, in my opinion, is very attractive and it is not cluttered. The back also just contains the contact information and the hours of the academic services. I like everything they chose to include in the brochure, as it is very relevant to the topic.
