Video Mashup

Fair Use

Fair Use is the ability to use copyrighted material in a transformative way, you do not need to pay or get permission to use the copyrighted material because of this doctrine. Fair use normally falls under two categories which are commentary and criticism and parody. Movie mashups like the one I created here by combining video from The Lion King and audio from The Dark Knight Rises fall under fair use because it would be considered a parody which uses two copyrighted sources.

Premiere

Premiere is a video editing application from adobe, it allows creators to edit video and change the audio and video aspect to create many different projects. For this blog assignment I created my own video by combining audio and visual aspects from two movies (The Lion King and The Dark Knight Rises). First I took the audio away from one trailer of The Lion King, then, I replaced that audio with audio from a trailer of The Dark Knight Rises. After that I combined different parts of the Lion King video to match the audio.
